Barthson Global Communications (#BGC) & IRepCamer are pleased to partner with independent Soul Pop artist Kei “Kei” Fofie for the release of her debut single, “CRY”. Kei is previously known for her remake of “Stay” by Rihanna, which had thousands of YouTube views and led to comparisons with Rihanna’s version.
The song “CRY” is more than just music according to Kei; and it’s clear to see once you listen to the track. A soulful ballade, Kei brings her unique vocals on a truly magical bit from Producer Gemini. “That song comes from deep within my heart … and Yes, I wrote all the lyrics myself”, she says.
“Cry” will introduce Kei as a super songwriter and vocalist. Famed producer Gemini of the Gemini Musiq studio, made the music to accompany the beautiful and easy on the ears vocals from Kei. The melody is instantly addictive. Gemini has worked with artists like Justin Bieber, Mario, Christina Milian, Lil John, and more. So “I was excited by the opportunity to work with him” says Kei.
“Cry” dwells on a topic that we are all familiar with…”is is a song that explains the power of love, the bitter after-taste when lovers go their separate ways, but never stop loving each other”. She laughs. She sings “I keep loving you even though you hurt me bad…” A lot of people can relate to the core message in the song which is what makes it such a great song to listen to. “I hope when you listen to the song it takes you to a safe place where you can find comfort knowing you tried” says Kei. “Sometimes you have to let it go, dig deep and pour it all out…and this was that moment for me…putting it all on this track”.
“This song is my Jam…it took me back to places, pulling feelings buried deep that I had to deal with. Kei is carving out a sweet spot for herself on the Music map” Mbole Ekane, Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger.
Kei is currently working on a full-length album and is excited with the release of her first single. “I am interested in all musical genres, especially AfroPop, Pop, Soul, Reggae, World Music, etc.” She is looking forward to working with the best musicians and producers to bring to the public a solid catalog of songs that address her hopes, experiences and everyday life.
“I can’t wait for Kei’s next offering. She has what it takes to be a superstar… ‘Cry’ is a sure hit…” DJ Man-No-Run
